Repiel Perfect Fit Lightening Mask Review
Today I am reviewing the Repiel Perfect Fit Lightening Mask (25 ml). I was sent a five pack of these earlier in the month complimentary in exchange for my honest review of the product. Repiel is a Korean beauty brand (the website refers to the company as Repiel Bio Cosmeceutical). Prior to being offered these masks I had never heard of the brand before. Before trying out my first mask I went on to CosDNA to see how the ingredients ranked: CosDNA Analysis of Repiel Perfect Fit Lightening Mask.
The Perfect Fit Lightening mask is made of bio-cellulose and touts snow lotus flower extract, selastin, vitamin B3, and vitamin C as those responsible for the strengthening and brightening qualities it claims. The back of the mask package directs you to cleanse your face prior to mask use to increase absorption and how to properly remove and apply the mask. This mask is unique from any others I have tried in that the outer layers are made of mesh (it resembles a soft plastic, so I don't think it's recyclable or biodegradable so booooo). This design does have two major advantages though; first, the serum isn't trapped outside of the mask while it's in the package, which is almost the entirety of it's life and second it makes taking the outer layers off way easier.
After removing the first mesh layer I put the mask on, lining up over my eyes and mouth and spreading the rest out from the middle. The outer layer pulled off incredibly well, not pulling the sheet mask up at all. The mask itself fit really well, the eyes were big enough, the sheet mask was large enough, it didn't overlap too much under the chin, and the mouth was ALMOST the right shape and size (if it were just a wee bit wider). It didn't drip, didn't shift, and stayed on the entire time with out any unstable feeling.

The mask contains a hefty amount of serum but the bio-cellulose dries out thoroughly after 20 minutes unless you pat more in periodically, and there's plenty of serum to do so it's just a pain in the ass to have to do so. The serum has a slight aroma that I can't place, it is neither pleasant nor unpleasant. When I took the mask off it ripped in to three pieces and pulled on my skin because it had dried out so much. I patted the excess serum in and left my skin as is because the serum feels pretty rich. Hours later before bed, my skin still felt pretty hydrated so I wen't to bed without any night routine. In the morning I went to stream my face before some dermabrasion and my skin felt like it had an oily surface and like the steam wouldn't penetrate. I used an oil based foam cleanser to get my skin feeling clean.
I used all five of the masks within 10 days, making sure to pat the serum in periodically on the next masks. After each use my skin felt incredibly hydrated but I wasn't able to use anything afterwards like a moisturizer or treatment without the products pilling up. When I have experienced this before it has usually been due to carbomers in the products, which this mask does contain.

How the Rating Works
- Effectiveness is 2/3 of the Total Rating
- Packaging is 1/6 of the Total rating
- Physical Qualities is 1/6 of the rating
Repiel Perfect Fit Lightening Mask Individual Ratings (0 - 5)
- Effectiveness = 2
- This mask did not in my five uses seem to brighten. lighten, or rejuvenate skin texture. The mask did hydrate my face very well. Two points for intense hydration that lasted all night.
- Packaging = 2
- The packaging is neither attractive or ugly. Masks packages are small. Comes in convenient five packs. Mesh makes it very easy to unwrap and put on. Packaging and mesh that is not recyclable in my area. Zero points for attractiveness, one point each for being small, coming in five packs, and ease of mesh liners. Minus one point for not being recyclable.
- Physical Qualities = 4
- The mask fits incredibly well. The masks stay on. There is plenty of serum. The serum is thick and does not smell bad. The masks, due to being bio-cellulose, dry out quickly. One point each for all points above but the last, minus one.
Repiel Perfect Fit Lightening Mask Total Rating = 2.5
As with all products, your mileage may vary (YMMV). The Repiel Perfect Fit Lightening Mask is intensely hydrating, well fitting, and easy to use. Unfortunately it leaves my skin feeling a little slick and doesn't allow me to use other products without pilling.
