Repiel Smart Foot Mask Ultra Rich Review

Today I am reviewing the Repiel Smart Foot Mask Ultra Rich (16 ml). I was sent a five pack of these complimentary a few weeks back in exchange for my honest review of the product. Repiel is a Korean beauty brand (the website refers to the company as Repiel Bio Cosmeceutical). I am only recently familiar with this brand because they sent me some of their sheet masks last month to review (Repiel Perfect Fit Mask Lightening reviewed here). 

Although I took a look at the ingredients list on the package before use it wasn't until after trying these out a few times that I went over to CosDNA to see how the ingredients ranked and not surprisingly, there was no entry. So as is becoming the usual, I made one: CosDNA Analysis of Repiel Smart Foot Mask Ultra Rich.

Water, Glycerin, Carthamus Tinctorius (Safflower) Seed Oil, Urea, Glyceryl Stearate, Butylene Glycol, PEG-100 Stearate, Cetearyl Alcohol, 1.2-Hexanediol, Propanediol, Caprylyl Glycol, Illicium Verum (Anise) Fruit Extract, Phenoxyethanol, Dimethicone, Fragrance, Carbomer, Arginine, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil, Carica Papaya (Papaya) Fruit Extract, Thymus Serpillum Extract, Salicylic Acid, Allantoin, Disodium EDTA, Melaleuca Alternifolia (Tea Tree) Leaf Oil, Tocopheryl Acetate, Ceramide 3, Hydrogenated Lecithin, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Sodium Hyaluronate.

The foot masks come in a sheet mask package. Once removed from the packaging you cut  or tear gently at the perforated line to separate the masks. The masks are made of two layers; the inner layer is thin, soft, and highly saturated with a slippery feeling serum while the outer one is a protective plastic layer. The masks are clearly marked at the ankle whether it is for the Left or Right foot. These foot masks barely slip over my US Women's Size 10 feet but once on fit great and are comfortable. There is an adhesive tab at the ankle that folds over and secures the masks in place like a pair of socks. I was pretty gentle with these the first few times but I've gotten more brave and have walked about in these just fine without any rips, tears, or leaks!

The first couple of times I used these (at night) for the recommended time (15-20 minutes) my feet felt extra hydrated and soft until the next day but with no noticeable visual results. Since the package didn't have a warning against using for longer than the recommenced time I left these on for an hour the 3rd time and had much more noticeable results - within a few hours the soles of my feet started to peel! I normally use a pumice stone and moisturize overnight a few times a week so I really didn't expect such a dramatic peel. 

The peeling effect made me reflect on the ingredients list...must be the salicylic acid! I went back to their website to check out the deets on the mask again and saw that they make 2 different foot masks; this one and one specifically meant as exfoliating! Hmmmm... The exfoliating mask has about twice the ingredients (with major actives like Lactic and Glycolic acids) and is meant to be left on for 90 minutes... WOW! Now I really want to try the other ones too!

Repiel Smart Foot Mask Ultra Rich Individual Ratings (0 - 5)

• Effectiveness = 5
• These foot masks deeply moisturized my feet. I use at night and the hydrating qualities were still felt the next day. 
• Packaging = 2.5
• The packaging is fairly attractive for this type of product; it looks modern and clinical. It is easy to open and use. The packaging, and it's contents, are not recyclable. 
• Physical Qualities = 4
• The masks fit well on my rather large feet once on but will not fit many others. The adhesive has adhered every time and the masks have not torn. The serum is plentiful, and is pleasantly cool and slippery. They're fun to use!

      Repiel Smart Foot Mask Ultra Rich Total Rating = 4.125

         As with all products, your mileage may vary (YMMV). The Repiel Smart Foot Mask Ultra Rich is hydrating, easy to use, and fun to wear. If these were recyclable and slightly larger I'd give it ratings of 5 across the board. At about $2 retail per use, it's an affordable option to try out. I will mos def be purchasing a pack of these for a friend and a pack of their exfoliating foot masks for myself.
