SEP Beauty Liquid Sticker Nail Polish Review

Today I am reviewing the SEP Beauty Liquid Sticker Nail in Rose  (9.5 ml). I was sent a bottle of this polish complimentary in exchange for my honest review of the product. SEP Beauty is a Korean beauty brand; I have seen their nail polishes at Nordstrom's before but that is my only familiarity with the brand. The brand produces small lines of face and lip makeup, skincare, and this type of sticker nail polish.

The SEP Beauty website is visually stunning and has Chinese, English, and Korean versions! My only comment about the website is that there are not complete ingredients lists for each product, and a site this detailed really should have that. They state that their line is "too small" to provide full ingredients for products and to check the website for full ingredients, but links right back to the SEP Beauty site that has no lists. Unfortunately the ingredients are NOT listed on the outer packaging either, there is no CosDNA listing for it, and my web searches for a full ingredients list were fruitless. I could literally be painting my nails with the blood of 300 virgin boars and I would have no clue. Yay?

What is listed on the website is some things that the product DOES NOT contain and a few ingredients that it does. I found an email address on the website so requested the ingredients that way; the email was returned undeliverable. I even tried to contact the parent company, CJO Shopping to no avail. I guess we will move on with what little we have from the website...
     SEP Beauty Liquid Sticker Nail limited ingredients list:
        Argan Tree Kernel oil, Macadamia Seed oil, Omega 3, Omega 6, Vitamin B5, Vitamin  E, Propolis, Collagen.

     SEP Beauty Liquid Sticker Nail does not contain list:

        Methylparaben, Ethylparaben, Propylparaben, Isopropylparaben, Butylparaben, Isobutylparaben, Benzyl alcohol, Chlorphenesin, TEA, Benzophenone-3.

According to the website the brand's design concept is "Raw meets Chic", their name stands for

• Sustainable
• Expressive
• Perfect

and they achieve those adjectives through their ingredients, packaging, and colors/textures.

Neither the packaging nor the website offer decent directions on how to use the product; for example, how long to wait between applying coats, how long it takes to dry, etc. The packaging says that the product will last 1-2 days depending on the condition of your nails. For bolder color it does say apply two coats. I used this nail polish three times over the period of one week to test it out in different situations. It is definitely best to apply two coats. The second coat is like a top coat, covering any thin areas from the first coat and it makes it so much easier and cleaner to peel off later.

I applied this my first use about an hour before bed to see how it would last through the night with out any tasks being done with my hands. I applied two coats and it looked great before bed but by the next morning there was a small gouge out of one of them. I peeled it off and they came off incredibly easy in full pieces. My second use I applied one coat before work after doing my hair and face. I was surprised that it lasted most of the day but did start to peel up from the tip near the end of the day (I was typing a lot). I peeled the rest off immediately and it was more difficult to take off, each nail coming off in multiple uneven strips. The third use I applied two coats right before a party and it made me extremely nervous that it would get nicked and look awful but it did not, and if it had I could have peeled them all of in the bathroom. They still looked good the next morning but began to peel off as I moved some furniture.

SEP Beauty Liquid Sticker Nail Individual Ratings (0 - 5)

• Effectiveness = 3
• It applies and dries fast. Does not dry nails out. Peels off easily. This product states that it will last 1-2 days; it will not unless you keep your hands sitting gently in your lap the entire time. This will 12 hours at best even with minimal hand tasks.


• Packaging = 2
• Design is modern, minimalist, and attractive. Packaging is no bigger than it needs to be. Packaging and bottle are recyclable. Packaging is extremely difficult to open, tore my nail edge trying to unfold the hard plastic tabs. Nail brush comes out at an odd angle from the rectangular shaped cap making it difficult to hold and get a flat sweep across the nail. This may have just been my bottle? Packaging does not have ingredients list.
• Physical Qualities = 5
• Does not have any nail polish smell or other chemical odor. Is thick and opaque. Applies well without bubbling, streaking, or pooling. Color is bright, attractive, looks unique. I am impressed with how lovely this Rose color is.

SEP Beauty Liquid Sticker Nail Total Rating = 3.25

As with all products, your mileage may vary (YMMV). From my three uses I think it is important to use two coats of this, waiting at least 2 minutes between coats and to apply right before an event with full intentions of peeling it off the same night or the next morning. The SEP Beauty Liquid Sticker Nail, from what I can tell, basically a latex nail polish which you can get for $2 from any costume or party shop. I can't say that it is any different from those cheap Halloween latex polishes other than the aroma as there is no way to determine the ingredients.  I value transparency in a brand and a product and won't be purchasing anything from this brand until they provide full ingredients lists. Also at $15 a bottle...you could go to town at a costume shop and have a full rainbow of colors for the same price.
